Life for rent

xiaoqiang says: end of the month again. it's friday, friday, friday. early office hours was great. with a holiday hearty mood. i was listening to my newly bought CD, Dido - Life for rent. ok, i am slow. real outdated. but i only gotten money this week to buy CDs. Bought another CD , Stacey Kent collection II.

hey, janet, do you listen to Stacey kent too? went to do apparel therapy today. bought 1 CD from Faye Wong. another old album.

i was at Plaza Singapura this afternoon for lunch. while waiting for other colleagues to shop stuff for my department mascot, went to BLUE MAX to look at DVDs. saw a small tray of old CDS selling at $10 per VCD/CD. *frown* saw Faye Wong's album *grab~!* saw Michael Jackson's History album *GRAB!* at the counter, the cashier was telling me that this MJ album is cassette version*argh~!* what in the world that there are people listening to cassette now? forgive me if you still have cassette player. but....it's the compact disc world now. or rather it already evolves 10 years ago.

And i wished that i went for the Body Shop Sale~. ARgh. so many things to buy. so little money. *sigh* i was happily NETSing away before i knew it. i am left with this amount of cash again. no people. your beloved xiaoqiang don't spend money blindly. he only want to have some spurs after he paid all the bills.

quote this post below from evan's xanga. this post indeed is a really a tribute to the nice guys out there. some of them sounds really true( to me). so nice guys, don't give up. nice girls, don't give up too. wave your hands, stand in the spotlight. don't shy away. and there will be a better tomorrow.*grin*

++

This is a tribute to the nice guys. The nice guys that finish last, that never become more than friends, that endure hours of whining and bitching about what assholes guys are, while disproving the very point. This is dedicated to those guys who always provide a shoulder to lean on but restrain themselves to tentative hugs, those guys who hold open doors and give reassuring pats on the back and sit patiently outside the changing room at department stores. This is in honor of the guys that obligingly reiterate how cute/beautiful/smart/funny/sexy their female friends are at the appropriate moment, because they know most girls need that litany of support. This is in honor of the guys with open minds, with laid-back attitudes, with honest concern. This is in honor of the guys who respect a girl’s every facet, from her privacy to her theology to her clothing style.

This is for the guys who escort their drunk, bewildered female friends back from parties and never take advantage once they’re at her door, for the guys who accompany girls to bars as buffers against the rest of the creepy male population, for the guys who know a girl is fishing for compliments but give them out anyway, for the guys who always play by the rules in a game where the rules favor cheaters, for the guys who are accredited as boyfriend material but somehow don’t end up being boyfriends, for all the nice guys who are overlooked, underestimated, and unappreciated, for all the nice guys who are manipulated, misled, and unjustly abandoned, this is for you.

This is for that time she left 40 urgent messages on your cell phone, and when you called her back, she spent three hours painstakingly dissecting two sentences her boyfriend said to her over dinner. And even though you thought her boyfriend was a chump and a jerk, you assured her that it was all ok and she shouldn’t worry about it. This is for that time she interrupted the best killing spree you’d ever orchestrated in GTA3 to rant about a rumor that romantically linked her and the guy she thinks is the most repulsive person in the world. And even though you thought it was immature and you had nothing against the guy, you paused the game for two hours and helped her concoct a counter-rumor to spread around the floor. This is also for that time she didn’t have a date, so after numerous vows that there was nothing “serious” between the two of you, she dragged you to a party where you knew nobody, the beer was awful, and she flirted shamelessly with you, justifying each fit of reckless teasing by announcing to everyone: “oh, but we’re just friends!” And even though you were invited purely as a symbolic warm body for her ego, you went anyways. Because you’re nice like that.

The nice guys don’t often get credit where credit is due. And perhaps more disturbing, the nice guys don’t seem to get laid as often as they should. And I wish I could logically explain this trend, but I can’t. From what I have observed on campus and what I have learned from talking to friends at other schools and in the workplace, the only conclusion I can form is that many girls are just illogical, manipulative bitches. Many of them claim they just want to date a nice guy, but when presented with such a specimen, they say irrational, confusing things such as “oh, he’s too nice to date” or “he would be a good boyfriend but he’s not for me” or “he already puts up with so much from me, I couldn’t possibly ask him out!” or the most frustrating of all: “no, it would ruin our friendship.” Yet, they continue to lament the lack of datable men in the world, and they expect their too-nice-to-date male friends to sympathize and apologize for the men that are jerks. Sorry, guys, girls like that are beyond my ability to fathom. I can’t figure out why the connection breaks down between what they say (I want a nice guy!) and what they do (I’m going to sleep with this complete ass now!). But one thing I can do, is say that the nice-guy-finishes-last phenomenon doesn’t last forever. There are definitely many girls who grow out of that train of thought and realize they should be dating the nice guys, not taking them for granted. The tricky part is finding those girls, and even trickier, finding the ones that are single.

So, until those girls are found, I propose a toast to all the nice guys. You know who you are, and I know you’re sick of hearing yourself described as ubiquitously nice. But the truth of the matter is, the world needs your patience in the department store, your holding open of doors, your party escorting services, your propensity to be a sucker for a pretty smile. For all the crazy, inane, absurd things you tolerate, for all the situations where you are the faceless, nameless hero, my accolades, my acknowledgement, and my gratitude go out to you. You do have credibility in this society, and your well deserved vindication is coming.

teenage textbook
**repost on 29th apr 2004**

xiaoqiang says: apologised for not blogging this 2 days. it must be the hot! hot! hot! weather . It's time to get your shades out people. gotta protect our eyes. Went Sheraton Towers yesterday for lunch with my colleague. nice ambience though. we were having ala carte by the glass wall with a man-made waterfall. With carps or kois swimming. how nice to have lunch with sun rays occasionally lins in; with every change of cutlery and plates after each course. it's almost like a royalty treatment. *drool* will be looking forward to have dinner, heard the view of the waterfall is more beautiful in the evening.

if your com/laptop allows you to listen to the background music, you are listening to Lizards Convention Beverly. yes, i support local bands, Lizards Convention, Humpback Oak, Concave Scream( according to dickson, concave scream belongs to indie genre which i don't quite fancy nowadays. but i do like their songs during my poly days. ), etc..... but sad to say, our local music scene, mainly the english ones are not widely publicise. the song "No More Tears" was 1st heard(i think) in a local movie, "Teenage Textook".

i am looking for the film. can someone tell me where can i find it?

a little bit about....

A story about love, lust and lechery, an unexpected romp through the homes, schools and love lives of people teetering on the brink of teen and adulthood.

Adapted from Adrian Tan's light-hearted and humorous story about teenagers grappling with growing up in modern-day Singapore, was first published in 1987. Since then, it has undergone several reprints and warranted a sequel, The Teenage Workbook. Both books have sold more than 100,000 copies in Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia, becoming one of Singapore's best selling novels of all time.

Mega Media financed and produced The Teenage Textbook Movie. The film went on to gross more than $800,000 and topped the Singapore box office for 4 weeks, beating all the Hollywood films during the 1998 year-end season. The film went on to become a best seller on Video and VCD through Warner Home Video and was the first Singapore feature to be sold to international cable network Cinemax.

jack & jill

xiaoqiang says: below is a nursery rhyme. something to cheer your monday blues. remember it's a nursery rhyme....*evil grin* okay, i am just being corny. below is a rhyme for you guys to laugh your ass off. kids below 12 are out of bounds.

++ Jack And Jill ++

Jack and Jill went up the hill
To fetch a pail of water.
Jill forgot to take the pill,
So now they've got a daughter.

Jack and Jill went up the hill
For just an itty bitty.
Jill's now two months overdue,
And Jack has left the city.

Jack and Jill
Went up the hill,
Each with a quarter.
Jill came down with fifty cents;
Do you think they went for water?

Jack and Jill
Went up the hill
To fetch a pail of water.
Jack fell down on top of Jill
And now they have another daughter.

Jack and Jill went up the hill
With a keg of brandy
Jack got stewed, Jill got screwed
Now it's Jack, Jill and Andy.

Jack and Jill went up the hill,
To smoke a little leaf.
Jack got high,
Pulled down his fly,
And Jill said,
"Where's the beef!"

Jack and Jill
Went up the hill
And planned to do some kissing.
Jack made a pass, and grabbed her ass
And now two of his front teeth are missing.

Jack and Jill went up the hill
For a bit of hanky panky
Jill came back
With a very sore crack
Jack must have been a Yankee.

Jack and Jill went up the hill
On an elephant.
Jill got down and helped
Jack off the elephant.

M. gentil

currently playing: Michael Buble - Come fly with me

xiaoqiang says: M. gentil means Mr Nice in french. read an article in " SUNDAY LIFESTYLE " today on what man wants. it's more like a auntie agony question thingy.

Q: i 'm about to start a new relationship with a nice guy. but i don't want to have sex with him.i'm just looking for a little romance and affection. but will men today accept this, how should i put this across to him?

A:Congratulations on finding a nice guy.....bla bla bla....rats will dump you if he doesn't get what he needs, including sex. the nice guy will not push you into sex, and will be sensitive to when you are ready.

a nice guy will respect you values and needs.there are definitely men who don't have only sex on their minds and willnigly to wait, but admittedly, there are not many of them round..... bla bla bla..

xiaoqiang says: this mr nice guy happens to be my lot of friends. but nice is not a good word. many had told me qiang ah, he so nice... he so sweet... but no ones tells me they want him/ them. don't you girls long for, hope for this kind of man?? so what's the question again. what man wants? or what women wants? why women after all those thrills, fast and furious, speed. after roller-coaster ride and in the end they say they wanted a quiet simple life, a nice guy to treat them right. tsktsk... very contradicting.

il mare

in my CD player is S.E.N.S - True Love(instrumental)

The story begins at the tail end of 1999, as voiceover actress Eun-joo (Jun Ji-hyun) moves out of a seaside home named 'Il Mare'. Before leaving, Eun-joo leaves a Christmas card in the mailbox, with a message asking the eventual new owner to forward any mail of hers to her new address in the city. Meanwhile, exactly two years prior in 1997, Il Mare's first owner, architect Sung-hyun (Lee Jung-jae, who recently co-starred opposite Shim Eun-ha in "The Interview"), receives Eun-joo's card. Thinking it to be a joke, he writes back to Eun-joo and asks her not to tamper with his mailbox anymore, while pointing out that the 'current year' is 1997.

However, after a bit of back-and-forth banter, all doubt about the magical properties of the mailbox are soon erased, and Eun-joo and Sung-hyun begin sending regular correspondence to each other. In addition to finding out that they are both kindred spirits, they come up with new uses for their unique connection: Sung-hyun is able to return a tape recorder that Eun-joo lost two years ago, while Eun-joo is able to send back a still-unpublished book by Sung-hyun's estranged father. Eventually, they agree to meet in person-- an uneasy task given their separate time periods. Though the agreed-upon day is only a week away from Eun-joo's perspective, it is still a full two years from where Sung-hyun stands. Will these two lovelorn pen pals meet?

The most obvious standout aspect of "Il Mare" are the time-constrained interactions between Eun-joo and Sung-hyun's, which result in a number of gee-whiz moments and thought-provoking scenes, such as the film's ending, which is heart-wrenching, uplifting, and mind-blowing at the same time. However, what makes "Il Mare" so memorable is the well-told love story at its core. Without resorting to overt melodrama, director Lee Hyun-seung chronicles the blossoming romance between his two protagonists and how their regrets of the past threaten to tear them apart, brought to life by the natural performances of the two leads. In addition, Lee conveys a mood of both warmth and melancholy through some stunning cinematography that makes good use of the seaside setting. There is also some good tension generated as Eun-joo and Sung-hyun edge closer towards meeting each other in person, though at times, it seems a little needlessly drawn out. Thankfully, this oversight ends up being redressed with a third-act revelation that only heightens the emotional resonance of their connection.

xiaoqiang says: saw this korean movie. so touchy. i really love the story plot. in fact did you know there's 2 versions of this movies? the director added the happy ending after so much comments from fellow koreans just to please them. else it's just a sad ending.*sob*

Action/Adventure and Thriller
2 hrs. 14 min.

Continuing the story-line which unfolded in "Kill Bill Vol. I," this is a revenge tale of an expert assassin, called The Bride, who sets out on a quest to wreak vengeance upon her former employer, Bill, and other members of their assassin circle, for shooting her at her wedding--along with everyone else in attendance--and leaving her for dead. When this chapter in the story begins, The Bride will have already encountered some of her targets, as she continues battling her way up the chain of command, knowing it will ultimately lead her to her main goal: her chance to 'Kill Bill.'

xiaoqiang says: i just like Pai Mei. wahhaha

xiaoqiang says: saw this comic strip(above) at adrian's blog. which led me thinking about a story i've post before.

++ repost++
Once upon a time, there was a teacher xiaoqiang and his student lying down under a big tree near a big grass area. Then, suddenly, the student asked the teacher xiaoqiang,

Student : Teacher xiaoqiang, I'm confused, how can we find our soul-mate? Can you please help me?

Teacher xiaoqiang: (Silent for few second, than he answer)Well, it's a pretty hard and easy question.

Student: (Thinking hard) Huh???

Teacher xiaoqiang : Look on that way, there are a lot of grass there, why don't you walk there but please never walk backward, just walk straight ahead. On your way, try to find a beautiful grass and pick it up then give it to me. But just one.

Student : Well, ok then... wait for me... (walk straight ahead to the grass field).

A few minutes later...

Student : I'm back.
Teacher xiaoqiang : Ermm, well I don't see any beautiful grass on your hand.

Student : On my journey, I found few beautiful grass, but I thought that I would find a better one, so I didn't pick it up. But I didn't realize that I'm at the end of the field, and I hadn't picked up any. Cause you told me not to go back, so I didn't go back.
Teacher xiaoqiang : That's what happened in real life.

What is the message of this story?
+ Grass - is people around you
+ Beautiful Grass - is people that attract you
+ Grass Field - is time
In looking for your soulmate, please don't always compare and hope that there will be a better one. By doing that, you'll waste your lifetime, cause remember "Time Never Goes Back". It applies the same in finding your ideal life partner, your suitable career or business, therefore the morale is LOVE & grab hold of the opportunity that you have now, don't waste time!

Nicoll Highway

xiaoqiang says: Below is a coverage of the news of the Nicoll Highway incident. for those who are overseas might want to have a share of the news. Still, it's sad to hear such thing happened. it seems to me like human self-destruction as most know that there's no natural calamities in singapore.

+ One dead, three hurt, three missing
+ Thousands of commuters hit
+ Highway will stay closed for months

A MASSIVE collapse of a Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) construction site yesterday afternoon wrecked a stretch of Nicoll Highway, which will now be closed for many months. The mid-afternoon accident near the Merdeka Bridge killed one construction worker and injured three others. Three men were missing and feared dead.

By last night it appeared that the accident occurred after a temporary supporting wall for a tunnel of the MRT's Circle Line collapsed. There might have been more casualties, except that most of the site workers were having their tea break when the tragedy happened.
While completion of the Circle Line now looks likely to be delayed, thousands of commuters must now use alternative routes into and out of the city, and put up with congestion for several months while the highway is repaired.

The volume of traffic disrupted is unprecedented, the Land Transport Authority (LTA) said.
Everything happened very quickly yesterday afternoon. Thai construction worker Vehakul Somchia, 28, was bringing tools down to the site at about 3.30pm when he saw a crane and wall collapse. He dumped his tools and ran. "I just knew that I must get off this bridge or I would fall in and die," he said. "When the crane sank into the ground there was a man inside." Within minutes, the surrounding area caved in, leaving a gaping ravine 30m deep strewn with twisted steel beams, rubble, cranes and excavators.

Motorists ground to a halt in time, as a 100m stretch of the highway collapsed. Home Affairs Minister Wong Kan Seng arrived at the scene and assured the public: "There is no indication that this is foul play." Transport Minister Yeo Cheow Tong, who came in the late afternoon, said the surrounding buildings were safe, and the top priority now was the search and rescue operations, involving some 75 firefighters and rescue dogs. The body of a Malaysian crane operator in his 40s, Mr Vadivil Nadason, was brought out at 6.15pm, while search teams worked on to find three others believed to have been driving machinery at the bottom of the site when the wall came down. Three others were injured and taken to hospital. Two were later discharged from Tan Tock Seng Hospital - an Indian national, 25, and a Singaporean, 47, both with leg injuries. A Thai worker, 21, with head injuries is still at the Singapore General Hospital.

Even as curious onlookers crowded the area, police cordoned off Merdeka Bridge and sealed all roads leading to Nicoll Highway. The impact of the accident was felt far and wide. As Nicoll Highway sank, gas, water and electricity cables snapped, causing power to go out for about 15,000 people and 700 businesses in the Marina and Suntec area. Tenants and residents in the Golden Mile Complex, near the collapsed stretch, were also evacuated. Several callers to The Straits Times said they heard an explosion, while others reported blackouts. Though some eyewitnesses said they saw flames flash across Nicoll Highway, the LTA said it had no evidence of an explosion.

When leaking gas was detected, Power Gas shut off the supply to the pipe, said Mr Rajan Krishnan, LTA's director of projects, at a news conference last night. The loud sound of the collapsing wall 'might have sounded like an explosion', he said. Electricity was restored at 3.50pm. The huge boom which sounded at 3.30pm sent many office workers scurrying to their windows, to be stunned by what they saw. From his 18th-floor office at Golden Mile Tower, Mr Vincent Chan, 28, said he heard a loud sound 'like a huge aircraft approaching the building'. Rushing to the window, he saw a ball of fire on the far side of Nicoll Highway.
"Then the steel reinforcements lying horizontally across the road started to fall into the hole one by one, like dominoes," he said. Others ran out of their buildings for safety.

Ms Sirirat, 48, a permanent resident from Thailand, was sewing in her shop on the first floor of the Golden Mile Complex when she heard a loud bang. "I saw many women running out of their shops," she said. "They said: 'Gas explosion! Run for your life." So I followed them. I thought it was a bomb.' Speaking to reporters yesterday, the Transport Minister said the LTA would now stabilise the ground and ensure the buildings in the area remained secure. "Tunnelling has been going on for many years but this has never happened before,' he said. "LTA will do its utmost to repair the damage and the rest of the Circle Line project will continue." The LTA said it could be six to nine months before Nicoll Highway might be opened again.

xiaoqiang says: Heard that's something big happened in Nicole Highway this afternoon. some landslide thingy or explosion. wil cover that when i have a bigger knowledge of it.

Did an IQ test off Vera's blog. you can click here to access the quiz. practically, it doesn't tell you your IQ. no, it's not those mensus test. but it tells you bonkers who are thinking or trying to proof that you are smart( jumping and pointing to myself!!) or rather a get-to-know-yourself-better test.

Congratulations, Xiaoqiang!!
Your IQ score is 120 (Einstein is 160)

This number is based on a scientific formula that compares how many questions you answered correctly on the Classic IQ Test relative to others.

Your Intellectual Type is Visual Mathematician. This means you are gifted at spotting patterns — both in pictures and in numbers. These talents combined with your overall high intelligence make you good at understanding the big picture, which is why people trust your instincts and turn to you for direction — especially in the workplace. And that's just some of what we know about you from your test results.

try again

xiaoqiang says: something i gotten in my mail today to brighten up your oh-so monday blues.

A young girl missed her period for two months.. Very worried, the mother goes to the rugstore and buys a pregnancy kit. The test result shows that the girl is pregnant. Shouting, cursing, crying, the mother says, "Who was the pig that did this to you? I want to know!" The girl picks up the phone and makes a call.

Half an hour later a Ferrari stops in front of their house; a mature and distinguished man with gray hair and impeccably dressed in a very expensive suit steps out of it and enters the house. He sits in the living room with the father, the mother and the girl, and tells them:

"Good morning, your daughter has informed me of the problem. However, I can't marry her because of my personal family situation, but I'll take responsibility. If a girl is born I will bequeath her 2 retail stores, a townhouse, a beach villa and a $1,000,000 bank account. If a boy is born, my legacy will be a couple of factories and a $2,000,000 bank account. If it is twins, a factory and $1,000,000 each. However, if there is a miscarriage, what do you suggest I do?"

At this point, the father, who had remained silent, places a hand firmly on the man's shoulder and tells him, "You can try again!"

fL eO aV Er

currently playing Michael Buble - Put your head on my shoulder

janet, i'm not sure if you like him too. but i like his voice after frank sinatra and nat king cole.

xiaoqiang says: Have you ever wondered which hurts the most? Said something and wishing you hadn't? or saying nothing and wishing you had? Is the most important things are the hardest things to say. like be afraid to tell someone you love them. If you do, they might break your heart...if you don't, you might break theirs. Have u ever decided not 2 become a couple because you were so afraid of losing what you already had with that person?

Your heart decides whom it likes and whom it doesn't? You can't tell your heart what to do? It does it on its own. when you least suspect it, or even when you don't want it to.
Have you ever wanted to love someone with everything you had, but that other person was too afraid to let you? Too many of us stay walled up because we are too afraid to care too much. for fear that the other person does not care as much, or even at all.

Have you ever denied your feelings for someone because your fear of rejection was too hard to handle? We tell lies when we are afraid... afraid of what we don't know, afraid of what others will think, afraid of what will be found out about us. But every time we tell a lie, the thing we fear grows stronger. Life is all about risks and it requires you to jump. are we to be a person who has to look back and wonder what they would have done, or could have had.

What would you do if every time you fell in love and you had to say good-bye? What would you do if every time you wanted someone they would never be there? What would you do if your best friend died tomorrow and you never got to tell them how you felt? (even if it is that you don't care anymore) What would you do if you loved someone more than ever and you couldn't have them? What would you do if you never got the chance to say I am friends with all of my family and they know I love them?

i've read some xanga's, some blogs. i could see some of my frens are still haunted by past relationships. some tormented by the sight of that man or that girl. some knees went soft when that person walked near and past them. some hearts beat faster till a blossom red rush up above when that person talked to them. it's not the usual puppy love that you can imagine, neither the 1st crush on. it's something we wanted so much; an answer, an action, a decision to help us to choose to the next step to move on. the next step we should take. up the stairs, down the hill.

i urge you to find someone to talk to. someone you feel comfortable to speak with. let him/her be your most loyal, quiet audience. you feel better this way. when you think it's tough living alone, braving the storm ahead alone. why not get a companion? i'm sure there's someone who's willingly. someone you call a friend.

now, it's friday. so go get alive.*grin*

become someone else

Eternal sunshine for a spotless mind?

Then I shall wipe out the grey slate
Or command borrowed rays to blind what is left

Of my memory

Which decays but does not completely die
Ugly twisted thoughts, writhe in pain
Fleeting traces make mind sick, not taking body’s breath

Heart is a trickster
Whispers dirty secrets and you fall

quickly,
passionately,
coaxing

Us to sin
And leaves lonely conscience to sort mental pieces

slowly,
painfully,
begging

Mind to forget
While hearts beat to keep shells alive
Mind suffers that which festers
Growing, cursing, seething

There is one but whom will never erase
Themselves, may have long forgotten your face
Your touch, your hands, your lips, your taste

If they could decide what to keep and what to throw away
Into the air like blowing dandelions in the wind
Would they choose to forget?

everything

Or have they already achieved
While dancing with their dark shadows,
Eternal Sunshine

From your memory.

xiaoqiang says: above is a poem qoute from evangeline's xanga. inspired by kayoko's

"....."Would you choose to selectively delete someone's memory from your life? I haven't seen Eternal Sunshine for the Spotless Mind yet, but I think the most interesting plot would be if both main characters underwent the memory eraser only to fall in love all over again after all their bad memories of eachother were gone. Of course it's all theory, but I think that once you start erasing memories you start erasing experiences and personality changing events. Even knowing that, is there one person you'd be willing to delete out of your memory? Pain makes you delirious at times. How would you feel if you found out someone was willing to do that about you? Or have already succeeded due to sheer willpower..."

-- Kayoko--

evan's says: "It would be lovely if we could erase the bad memories of each other and fall in love with the same person again.

Memories of a once great love are so very painful. Perhaps I could be happier if I choose to erase them from my memory forever? I could be wiser with the rich experience but I could be bitter.

How would you feel if someone was willing to erase their memory of you? Or have already succeeded due to great willpower?

In real life, in hurts. It hurts badly. It hurts if the other party were to erase the memory of what we shared. Glorious memories of a once beautiful love. "

xiaoqiang says: why would anyone chose to erase memory? be it virtual memory. print memory. stored memory. as far as i know. and as far as i can do. i am trying to engrave, to store, to keep every single inch and area of memories. i realised that i don't keep printed evidence of my younger day, i.e. photos, videos. i only have my diaries, journals to look at, to laugh at. trying to recap, recall the laughs, the crys, the moods, the joys, the sorrows.....

Me and she always have the unusual conversations. talked about alot of things. like today, she was telling me she wants to quit and leave singapore. she wants to be somebody for a while, get away, do something she never did before. do something thats not her. and the conversation went too personal to write here. (i know you all bitches thinking, hehe..)

went visiting my colleague at east shore hospital. she gave birth to a 2.6kg girl. CONGRATS!!!!! well, here comes the interesting part. it's never easy to take a cab in raffles place unless you booked it. but we flagged a pink london cab. everything in the cab is in pink. the tissue box, the sunglasses, the cabbie's shirt, namecard, etc. there's a photo of the cab dressed up as a wedding car with pink dressing.( too bad no photos~) it's
really pinkish. and my colleague gave me a pink grapefruit mentos plus before i leave for the day. taste abit weird.

shitz...what's with me today? or what's with today? pink day?

busy day. can't wake up this morning. Never did i chill on monday's night before. and i strongly warn you people,DON'T CHILL on monday night. it's not healthy. it sux. it will make you procastinate. went to one indie rock gig last night at Bar None to chill. i'm never the racist. i never discriminate music. i never dislike different genres. perhaps it's the beer. perhaps it's the crowd. perhaps it's the long day before the gig. perhaps i really don't like indie rock. argh~!

i have prayed to god for 500 years to let us harvest this fate.

god changed me into a tree,
grown along your destinated path.

Rays from the sun has bloomed flowers,
each stalk is my past life's hope.

when you walk near, please listen carefully,
every motion of the leaves is my desire of passion.

and you walk past, unnoticed;
behind you is not a groundful of fallen petals
but pieces of my broken heart.

xiaoqiang says: for you all Matrix fanatics, i've gotten an explaination for "Revolution" via an email. it clears up pictures for those who caught the movie but didn't get the whole picture. i hope it clears up doubts for you. the last para is just a comparison used to give a clearer picture. it does not represent anyone comments nor critisim. and not a prejudice non biase against any religions or anyone.

The Matrix explained:

Zion is real! The Matrix is not.

The Matrix was designed to provide a mental stimulus for the human bodies connected to the machines as a source of power. This is the sixth version of the Matrix. There have been multiple versions of the Matrix because of a flaw in the program (kinda of like Windows). That flaw is giving individuals the ability to choose.

The first Matrix was designed as a perfect uptopia (see pt. I - Smith explains it to Morpheus; pt. II - The Architect explains it again) but humans did not accept it as real so they just kept waking up. It was redesigned to reflect our civilization at it's last stage before it was taken over by the machines (the year 1999).

The Architect's problem with this new design (the anomoly)of the Matrix is that it require individuals to think freely, i.e. choice. It was the Oracle that suggested he redesign the Matrix in this way. But since humans have choices, so must the programs sent to watch over them, i.e. The Agents, thus bringing us the problem that is Mr. Smith. In Reloaded, The Architect continues to speak of the anomoly he is unable to get rid of, which is why
at some point, he feels the only solution is to destroy the Matrix and those who are aware of it (the people of Zion) and start from scratch again.

The Oracle says it clearly in Revolutions. Mr. Smith is the result of the anomoly trying to balance itself. Mr. Smith began to think freely (see part I where he is freaking out while interrogating Morpheous) and the result was a negative one. Realize this, he is a similar program to the One so he is far more dangerous than a normal individual who makes bad decisions. Mr. Smith's virus like behavior happened in EVERY VERSION OF THE MATRIX. The
result would always lead to the same thing -- a system crash if they didn't quickly reboot the system. The same knee jerk reaction you have when you realize someone has sent you a virus.

The One program was created to solve this problem. But each version of the One ultimately failed. Neo is different, in Reloaded he choose the door that led to Trinity, not the door that RESETS the program. Note: The Architect even noticed that Neo's experience in the Matrix was different than all the rest, realizing he was the first of them to fall in love.

Onto Revolutions:

Neo's choice has changed everything. The system is still threatened by Smith's behavior, so the Oracle makes a new choice; one she has never done before because no version of the One has ever chosen the difficult path as opposed to easy one of just resetting the system. She allows herself to become merged with Smith in the HOPE that she'll be able to help Neo when
the time is right.

Neo makes another unique choice. He goes to the machines and asks for PEACE as opposed to simply destroying the system by going through the opposite door as all other versions of the One did. It was a simple as that to save Zion. Machines don't need very long to process that this may be a better idea than just constantly resetting the system.

At the end, Smith says to Neo the movies tagline - "Everything that has a beginning has an end ", as the Oracle is speaking to Neo through Smith. Neo realizes it all along, the only way to end this is to sacrifice himself. The Oracle noted that Neo and the Source (the computer mainframe, the Architect they're all one and the same so don't get confused) are connected which is why he can control machines outside the Matrix. He uses this connection to his advantage. He becomes a Mr. Smith and since all the Smith's are connected, the Source now has a lock on Smith and simply deletes him. Pretty simple huh?

For those that like to dig deeper, than note the biblical references throughout the series. Heck, the French Man (Merovigchian) is the Devil, just read the elevator button Morpheous presses when he goes to see him for the second time. The Architect represents God - i.e. the creator of the world and its destroyer whenever things don't go as he wants. He even has you to chose a select group of people to restart Zion again sort of like Noah's Ark. Neo is Jesus, the one who realizes that peace and love is the answer, not war. And the Oracle represents the Holy Spirit - the conciousness that resides in all of us. It's a deep trilogy if you PAY ATTENTION.

xiaoqiang says: oh thank god that she left spain days ago. phew~

Miss Singapore-Universe 2004 is out. ok, i am abit slow on the results. she was crowned on last saturday night. click here to look at the them.

Nineteen-year old undergraduate Sandy Chua was crowned this year's Miss Singapore Universe at the finals of the contest held at the MediaCorp theatre on Saturday evening. 26-year-old business development executive, Marilyn Tan was first runner-up, while 26-year-old graduate, Joan Seah, was second runner-up. what happen to Laura Tan? i thought she was good. did she lost the chance just because she raised temperature among male viewers with her sensuous moves? wahahah.. apart from the ah-lians, flat-chested, bimbo comments... i think the contestants deserved a standing ovation for their courage. tell me about stage-fright and now tell me about cameras, forever flashing lights on them. it's not easy standing there, look elegant , smile and answer questions.

When i saw advertisements for Eye for a Guy, i thought another stupid reality show pulling some blokes to wow the forever-lots-of-people's envy bachelorette. then again, it's our good friend, Rachel Lee. okay, not mine but many of my friends'. at least for kelvyn. but when i saw TODAY's featuring this weekly 6 parter show, i wanna laugh. if you can catch today's TODAY copy, you can actually see the prize money rule over the girl. 8 of them are for the money. only 2 are for the girl. poor rachel. now something to bitch about. leave a comment to tell me if you think rachel is hot. in case you didn't know. rachel is also the FHM's Bikini babe.

then again, the trip to paris for the lucky dude with rachel looks more attractive to me. not the with rachel thingy. but the trip alone..THE TRIP!!!! fully sponsored. ARGHH~! i wanna go paris...

xiaoqiang says: something weird happened last night. i was smsing her," did she went to the Louis Vuitton boutique at France. to my surprise, she replied with, " how i know she just out of the shop. talk about psychic and telepathy. i didn't get to celebrate her birthday this year, and she had to buy herself a chocolate cake. *sob sob* so sad... boohoohoo.. all i can do was a e-card. boohoohoo~

okie, i was abit spastic. l'anniversaire heureux(happy birthday in french) and je vous manque( i miss you in french)

Went to meet up with my juniors. edmund( same name as me) & Jo, yaukai, danny, joleen, michelle and gwen. this bunch is just too funny to be with. much teasing and fun. Actually the purpose of this dinner is to celebrate yaukai's birthday cum farewell dinner before he flys to Taiwan for training. initially, everyone got overwhelmed with what swenson can offer. that's the crispy jumbo up in the photo. then again, a simple nice dish is what i can ask for. it was rather weird for edmund to drag yaukai away, so that danny and i can write on the gift, that's meant for him. hah! and the stupid idea is from me....(grrrrrr..)

after singing the birthday song, we had to moved the cake( which is not swenson's property) out of the place and seated somewhere. yes, somewhere in Changi Airport. oh, did i say we were at changi airport? kekekek. soon we got bored and decided to take the skytrain to and fro Terminal 1 and Terminal 2. Jo and edmund left early. got to work next day. and sent the birthday boy off. a million thanx to gwen who sent me back home.

below are some shots which got amused for the whole weekend. whahahahahahahah...
