xiaoqiang says: check out this ad. it's really good.

just heard from my she-twin that she fell faced down yesterday. wahahahahhaa* evil laugh* okie i shan't be evil. aiyo, poorie...*grin* but something strangey thing bug me for a while. we all probably have heard about twins having some telepathy stuff going on. this goes thoughts, speech...etc.

you see, i was feeling uneasy about my right knee this few days. regardless of standing, sitting, stretching or relaxing. it just don't feels right. i was thinking if my old injury recur. and yesterday, my she-twin tripped herself(so embarassed~) because of her right leg caught in the way. now, do you called this coincidence or telepathy or....twinology hehehe. below is some findings about telepathy.

History:

"Telepathy" is derived from the Greek terms tele ("distant") and pathe ("occurrence" or "feeling"). The term was coined in 1882 by the French psychical researcher Fredric W. H. Myers, a founder of the Society for Psychical Research (SPR). Myers thought his term descrbed the phenomenon better than previous used terms such as the French "communication de pensees," "thought-transference," and "thought-reading."

Research interest in telepathy had its beginning in mesmerism. The magnetists discovered that telepathy was among the so-called "higher-phenomena" observed in magnetized subjects, who read the thoughts of the magnetists and carried out the unspoken instructions.

Soon other psychologists and psychiatrists were observing the same phenomena in their patients. Sigmund Fraud noticed it so often that he son had to address it. He termed it a regressive, primitive faculty that was lost in the course of evolution, but which still had the ability to manifest itself under certain conditions. Psychiatrist Carl G. Jung thought it more important. He considered it a function of synchronicity (1). Psychologist and philosopher William James was very enthusiastic toward telepathy and encouraged more research be put into it.

When the American Society for Psychical Research (ASPR) was founded in 1885, after the SPR in 1884, telepathy became the first psychic phenomenon to be studied scientifically. The first testing was simple. A sender in one room would try to transmit a two-digit number, a taste, or a visual image to a receiver in another room. The French physiologist Charles Richet introduced mathematical chance to the tests, and also discovered that telepathy occurred independent of hypnotism.

Interest in telepathy increased following World War I as thousands of bereaved turned toward Spiritualism attempting to communicate with their dead loved ones. The telepathic parlor game called "willing" became popular. Mass telepathic experiments were undertaken in the United States and Britain.

Experimental findings:

Most often telepathy occurs spontaneously in incidents of crisis where a relative or friend has been injured or killed in an accident. An individual is aware of the danger to the other person from a distance. Such information seems to come in different forms as in thought fragments, like something is wrong; in dreams, visions, hallucinations, mental images, in clairaudience, or in words that pop into the mind. Often such information causes the person, the receiver, to change is course of action, such as changing his travel plans or daily schedule, or to just call or contact the other person. Some incidents involve apparent telepathy between humans and animals.

Telepathy seems to be related to the individual's emotional state. This is true of both the sender and receiver. Most women were receivers, as case findings showed, and one possible explanation is that women are more in touch with their emotions and rely on intuition more than men. Geriatric telepathy is fairly common, this may be due, it is speculated, to the impairment of the senses with age.

Telepathy can be induced in the dream state. It appears to be related to some biological factors: blood volume changes during telepathic sending, and electroencephalogram monitoring show that the brain waves of the recipient change to match those of the sender.

Dissociative drugs adversely affect telepathy, but caffeine has a positive effect on it.

Yamato Nadeshiko ("Perfect Woman") : Episode Three

Osuke holding Sakurako's hand at the hospital while she's dreaming

++

Sakurako meets with Higashijujou’s parents and they’re impressed with her. (Higashijujou helps out by lying to them about how she’s a good cook and has made many meals for him at her house.) His mom asks Sakurako what she loves best about her son, and after looking around at all the riches in his house, she says with a straight face that it’s how he’s never lied to her about anything.

At Sakuma’s house, poor Osuke is being berated by his friends for being so infatuated with Sakurako. They tell him that he’s been used by Sakurako, who’s only interested in wealth. They try to make him feel better by saying that it’s just as well it’s over now before he gets in deeper and becomes really hurt. Osuke agrees to give up on Sakurako, saying that she despises him now anyway.

Sakurako is in Higashijujou’s car and he’s talking about their wedding preparations. As they pass by the golf course gates, she remembers how she went there with Osuke that night on their date. Meanwhile, Osuke’s car also passes by the same place and he too is remembering about their date together. But there is this guy passing by with a big mirror that prevents them from seeing each other…

Higashijujou drops Sakurako off at a café where she’s arranged to meet her crewmates and they congratulate the two of them on their upcoming nuptials. Sakurako’s looking very happy and fulfilled but fter Higashijujou leaves, she turns to them and says "right! Now let’s plan our next gokon!" They’re struck dumb by this, but she tells them briskly that she’s just engaged to him, not married to him yet, and that she plans to spend all the time that’s left to her in checking out gokon candidates.

That night’s gokon is with really elderly men and it’s a waste of time for them. As Sakurako leaves with Wakabe, she says it’s too bad but occasionally, such failures cannot be helped. Wakabe asks her about Osuke but she says "who? He doesn’t exist in her mind anymore". Hearing this, Wakabe hurries off (no doubt to find Osuke!)

One of Sakurako’s former gokon men is waiting for her outside her apartment. He’s lost his job and fallen on hard times. While he’s pestering her, Osuke comes by and she grabs him and tells the guy that she has become engaged to Osuke and walks off with him. As they walk away, she tells Osuke not to mistake this and that it’s just an act, and he tells her that he understands. Once they’re at a safe distance, she thanks him coolly and turns to leave, but he’s worried about her safety and offers to walk her home, but she refuses. He wonders who the guy is and she tells him it’s someone she met at a gokon but he’s since lost his job and so she’ll have nothing more to do with him. He says wonderingly if she’s only concerned about his income… and she says "no, not just income, but also his assets and equities!" He says "… I meant love" but she retorts that love won’t bring her happiness. He says but your smile was so full of happiness that time during our date and she tells him that it wasn’t a "date" but a "social engagement" and that he wasted her time. She asks him not to greet her if they happen to meet in the streets again.

At Sakuma’s, his friends give Osuke a hard time for saving her. Sakuma tells Osuke that all flight attendants do when they’re not flying is go to gokons. At the mention of flight attendants, Kasuya grabs his mobile and rushes off to phone Nami. He asks her to go out that night but she excuses herself on the account of an early flight the next day, but in fact she’s out with Hanabusa!

At their pre-flight briefing, Sakurako tells her crewmates how Osuke had saved her the night before. They’re touched by his action but she doesn’t seem to be moved at all, saying that it’s so tiresome that his fish shop is so close and she’ll have to pass it all the time on the way home… but that since it’s in debt, maybe it’ll close soon and that’ll end her troubles. They find her heartless for saying that!

Osuke’s mom is getting ready to leave the hospital. She’s worried about their debts but Osuke tries to console her, telling her everything will be okay and not to worry.

When Sakurako comes back from Milan, she gets a call from Higashijujou and arranges to meet him to see their wedding venue. Her crewmates wonder if she’s up to it, as she was out all night in Milan doing gokon. They ask her why she isn’t satisfied, having found someone like Higashijujou who has money, looks and everything. In return, she asks them why it’s normal for a girl to want to find someone who’s better looking or has a better personality but not one with more money? She says that a person is born with his looks or character and it can’t be changed – but that it’s different with money as someone can change his wealth by hard work, so in fact her way’s more fair!

Wakabe goes to Osuke’s house to give him an o-miyage (souvenir) and she marvels at all the books he’s got. She asks about his studies, having heard from his mom about his MIT scholarship and then while she’s looking at his books, a picture of his ex-girlfriend falls out and she is struck by the resemblance to Sakurako. She sympathizes with his situation but when he replies that it’s his own fault that he lied, she says in a heated moment that Sakurako has become engaged to Higashijujou!

Osuke goes to Nobu to deliver fish and finds that the entire restaurant has been booked by Higashijujou to celebrate his engagement with Sakurako. The old professor who’s one of his guests recognises him and Osuke’s forced to join their party. As they’re eating, Higashijujou asks Sakurako if there’s anything she wants and she mentions the "chameleon", which she had lost in Paris. Hearing "chameleon", Osuke looks up in wonder – but as he’s busy helping them cut up the crab, he doesn’t hear about how it’s actually an antique Rolex watch. Higashijujou says that it’s hard to find nowadays and says that one must be careful as there are many fakes around (he looks at Osuke while saying this and poor Osuke starts to apologize for having lied about being a doctor before). Higashijujou cuts him off, saying pointedly that it’s important to be able to distinguish between what’s real and what’s fake.

As Osuke passes by in front of Sakurako’s apartment, he sees the gokon guy there again and he tries to persuade the guy to leave but gets hit for his troubles. Sakurako finds him there on the ground but as the gokon guy had already gone, she doesn’t believe Osuke when he tries to explain what had happened. She asks him not to bother her again and not to show his face in front of her ever again and Osuke asks her if it’s because he lied or because he’s poor. She replies "what difference does it make? You’ll never be rich anyway!" And he says "so only rich people matter to you?" and she retorts "better than liars!" He agrees not to ever bother her again but then as he turns to go, she faints and he ends up taking her to the hospital.

At the hospital, Sakuma tells Osuke that it’s just over-exertion and she’ll recover after a good rest. Osuke turns to leave, telling Sakuma that Sakurako has asked that he doesn’t show his face to her ever again. He goes to Sakuma’s house, where Mariko treats him for the light wound he’d sustained from the gokon guy.

Meanwhile, Kasuya’s out with Nami who tells him about Sakurako’s engagement and asks him if Osuke will be okay. He tells her that it took him 7 years to recover from the last time, so it may be some time before he’ll be okay this time. Nami’s flirting with Kasuya and he’s totally smitten by her. As they part in front of the love motel, he convinces himself that it’s because she’s a "good" girl that they don’t get to do anything, but in fact she’s calling Hanabusa to arrange to meet with him!

Mariko tries to convince Osuke to go see Sakurako at the hospital but he tells her that she’s asked him not to appear before her anymore. She asks him what he wants, saying that he’s too nice and always puts others before himself and it’s always been that way… even with "them". She said that back in school, he used to watch her from one side and he explains it’s because Sakuma liked her – and she says it proves her point! But then she thinks that from another angle, he’s actually just protecting himself, because he doesn’t want to get hurt and so never commits himself to any action. But she warns him that this time may be his last chance…

On his way back to the hospital, Osuke passes by a toy store and sees a chameleon in the window display…

Sakuma’s out with Wakabe and he tells her about how Sakurako’s in the hospital and that Osuke is there with her. Hearing this, Wakabe starts to get depressed and starts drinking hard. Meanwhile, they find that Hanabusa is at the same place with Nami.

At the hospital, as Osuke is by her bedside, Sakurako starts to dream about how she’s a little girl being chased by a group of boys. As she’s hiding from them, a man (his face is in shadows) comes towards her and tells her that it’s safe to go home – but she replies that she doesn’t want to because her home is poor. He tells her not to cry and that one day, he’ll come and rescue her and she’ll be able to leave all her pain behind her. As he turns to leave, she asks him not to go and holds out her hand… Seeing Sakurako hold out her hand, Osuke takes it and holds it in his own grasp and continues to hold it until morning comes…

In the morning, Higashijujou hurries to the hospital to see Sakurako and takes over from Osuke, who leaves. Thus, Sakurako wakes up to find Higashijujou holding her hand and thinks he must be the man in her dreams. She tells him about the dream, and how she’s always had this dream since she was a child and that she’s been looking for that man – her prince – all this time and it must be him as he’s the one who’s been by her side and holding her hand all this time. (Remembering that it’s Osuke who has actually spent the night by her side, Higashijujou looks uncomfortable but doesn’t say anything.) He then gives her the Chameleon watch and she’s delighted with the present. As he’s preparing her transfer to his own hospital, she finds the paper bag with Osuke’s chameleon inside and thinking that it’s a present from Higashijujou, she’s touched by the gesture…
